Oppression: Is it real? Are you an oppressor? Or are you the oppressed? Or are you Both?
Yes, without a doubt there certainly is oppression. It has been around for 100’s of centuries. In fact, it is has been present since the beginning of time, yes all the way back to the days of Adam and Eve. Oppression-the act of keeping down by cruel or unjust use of power or authority – in order to overpower or subdue.
On a large scale, we see oppression take place in other countries. But we also need to take a much closer look at what happens right before our eyes. There indeed are people who use oppression for their own advancement, power or ruling over others. Dictatorships are a prime example. There are people who use oppression for an opportunity to rule as one world, because supposedly the leader knows all the answers and can readily tell billions of other people how to live their lives and to tell them what is best for their lives.
When we look closer to those places right before our very eyes, there are those who know how to light the fire just to advance their own cause, They lite the fire and then come in to rescue and put out the fire, They look like heroes, but they are the ones who fund and keep oppression living well. It is foolish to think that the world could be one. That there would be only one leader and all [people in all countries would fall in suit, obey and be “one”.
It is also foolish to think that it is only one race that keeps another race under oppression. Oppression happens from one race to another, to another, going back and forth, depending on the issue, people involved and the resolves. The point here is to say there is not one race that only doe it.
We need to reduce the magnitude and complexity of trying to unite countries , even just two of them. Reality says we cant’ even get two states to unite. In all these cases, there is great exchange for one or the other to be the oppressor and the other to be the oppressed. Let’s get real, even for two people, even husband and wife, it is very difficult to have perfect union. For even with just two people, husband and wife, it is very easy for one to be the oppressor and the other be the oppressed.
Let’s get even more truthful, just take one person. In this example, take yourself, are you always happy with yourself? Are there not times in your life when you fight against yourself? Isn’t it true that in your own life there is both an oppressor and another part being oppressed? Answer the questions of you making the best and truthful decisions. There is a problem that sin, selfishness, or evil wants to ri\ule in our life.
So, yes we can be an oppressor and be the oppressed at the same time. What’s most important? It is most important to realize that this happens, be sensitive to it, help stop it, be truthful in your thinking and deliberations. Best to call it out so that the oppressed can rise up.
